For centuries plants and common food have medicinal properties.
Milk contains a protein called casein, which has some soothing properties.
Skin irritations, such as allergic reaction, mild burns, and bug bites.
Mix equal amounts of water and milk in a bowl, dip a lightweight cloth in the solution, and apply it to skin for 30 seconds. Re-dip and reapply for another 30 seconds. Repeat for 10 minutes. Do this twice daily until irritation subsidies.
Ginger is a dark horse! No one knows how it works, but studies have shown it’s effective.
Nausea- from motion sickness, pregnancy or surgery.
Make ginger tea by steeping slices of fresh gingerroot or 1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger in hot water for 10 minutes. Sip slowly. Sucking on candied ginger may also help.

Sweaty Feet
Black tea is the thing! Its tannic acid dries the feet and eliminates odor.
Steep two tea bags in a quart of warm water for 10-15 minutes. Soak your feet in the brew up to 20 minutes, and then pat dry.
Bad Breath
Parsley- the chlorophyll neutralizes odor-causing bacteria.
Chew on a sprig or two, or make parsley tea by steeping fresh parsley in a cup if boiling water. It can be used in smoothies and lemon water.
Cuts, Scrapes and other superficial skin wounds
Honey its antibiotic properties help prevent infections and speed healing.
Apply a dab to slightly open cut ir scrape, then cover with gauze to prevent a sticky mess.
( if it fails, there’s always crazy glue!)

Crazy glue is sometimes called field dressing. So many home remedies that we have forgotten about. I remember my mother had a book by a Vermont doctor about it and we used quite a few of his suggestions!

Thanks for the remedies. My husband’s feet are getting a little black tea tonight! Ha. It’s amazing what nature has to offer. We have lots of nettles here, which besides eating and brewing, also can cause major skin irritation. The solution is often growing nearby – ferns. Rub ferns on the affected area and the sting vanishes instantly. Mother nature is the best!

First. Adorable image 😊 . I have heard of a few of these and agree the ginger works . You may also want to add the Aloe Vera plant to the list . It does wonders for soothing burns and making scars disappear .
